DTM RC Lab exists to help everyday RC hobbyists make smarter decisions with their money through honest testing, practical experience and real-world results.
At the centre of everything we do is one simple question:
Is this upgrade actually worth your money?
We don’t believe every new part is necessary, every upgrade is an improvement, or every product deserves a glowing review.
We drive it. We test it. We modify it. And whenever practical, we return to the same conditions to see what actually changed.
Same rig. Same course. One change at a time.
That means showing the successes, the failures, the tradeoffs and the things that need more testing — because useful information matters more than hype.

Failures are part of the evidence. Not every upgrade is necessary. And a product being supplied to us will never guarantee a positive recommendation.

DTM RC Lab is created and operated by Pat & Sara Jacques, a husband-and-wife RC media and testing team from Southwestern Ontario, Canada.
After multiple setbacks following a back surgery in 2022, Pat developed an adaptive, bed-based workspace that allowed him to continue building, modifying and testing RC vehicles. Sara leads much of DTM’s creative direction, photography, course design, editing, social strategy and brand development.
That adaptive workflow is part of how DTM works — but the mission is bigger than our circumstances.
It is about creating useful RC content, helping people make informed decisions and proving that good testing does not require the biggest workshop or the most expensive equipment.
More Than Mini Crawlers
Mini crawlers are an important part of where DTM began, but they are not where the Lab ends.
Our coverage can include crawlers, bashers, boats, planes, helicopters, parts, accessories, creator equipment and other RC products that give us something meaningful to test.
Whatever the scale or platform, the standard remains the same:
Test it honestly. Report what happened. Help the community decide whether it is worth their money.
